Shakespeare review
Shakespeare was a great play writer, and he is also very well known. I admit it in the beginning I didn’t want to like him but now that I’ve been taught it differently rather than reading out of a book I find it to be better that what I had thought. This play was definitely a great thing for me to do. It showed me more than just the language in Shakespeare. It showed me his love for his audience’s reaction. The love to entertain and have fun doing so. Even though I was supposed to be working with curtains in the back other people got me involved by asking me to help run puppets back and forth. I loved this project it… well not at first but I learned to love it. I think this was a great change for me too, I used to hate Shakespeare and I think it was because my teacher last year just pushed it down our throats. Yes, I could have taken the time out at home to look it up but I hated it too much to even deal with It. I mean this whole project was my moment, it was my turning moment, but I defiantly loved when we finished the play. I loved ending our play not because it was finally over but because bowing to the crowed and seeing every ones faces and how happy every one backstage was to show off who did the play. Really everyone else made this a great play for me not just because I was in the play but I got to do the play with my friends. I would say the most difficult part was working on our stage. I think this was hard because we worked with limited materials and tried really hard to get it done but in the end we didn’t even use it. the worst out of the stage would be I think painting ours. We had the idea to hand paint our stage but we decided to spray paint it in use for time. It would have looked better if we would have hand painted it but I don’t think we would have made it in time. I learned a lot from this project one of which I have brought up a lot, but I think that this project taught me about others more than just me. I learned from my old schools that you can’t always trust your partner in projects. I think that doing this project showed me that not everyone is the same and are out for themselves. This project was great for me but I know that there was a lot of stress put on the directors witch I wish I could have collaborated and worked with them more to help them. I defiantly learned some new words and even a new type of word style witch was fun, but this project showed me a lot witch I love. I think that 400 years later we are still working on Shakespeare because his plays brought everyone together whether they were watching it or acting, everyone had fun. I also think that we should still learn about him for the fact of collaboration not just the languages like most schools. Shakespeare was a different man then most yes but I think we should have learned about other play writers in his time to see how others were wrote. My feelings towards not just Shakespeare but my friends and my team have changed drastically over the time of this project. |
